Roy Hill helps Indigenous Art brighten Lightscape

As part of Roy Hill’s sponsorship of Lightscape at Kings Park, our community team had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with a group of talented Indigenous children from the Pilbara, to showcase their cultural heritage and identity.

Several pieces of artwork were produced by children participating in the Julyardi Aboriginal Corporation and Roy Hill school holiday program, along with additional paintings from students at Strelley Community School. The artworks were digitally transformed and made into beautiful light installations that are a highlight of this year’s Lightscape event.

To celebrate the young artists and their contributions, Roy Hill facilitated a trip to Perth last month for them to experience Lightscape and see their original artworks light up Kings Park.

The children were given the VIP treatment, including making the most of access to food trucks and icecream stand! The excursion to Perth was, for most of the children, the first time on a plane. In addition to visiting Lightscape the kids also enjoyed ten pin bowling and Perth Zoo.

Lightscape runs through until Friday 28 July.
