At Roy Hill, we understand that our work means much more to the north and remote regions, and are pleased to support the regions in which we operate through programs and sponsorships that help people living and working, or just visiting, our north.
Roy Hill is pleased have entered into a new multi-year agreement with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) WA. Roy Hill’s partnership is part of a far wider across Australia commitment by Hancock Prospecting to ensure rural and remote communities can continue to receive this essential health care service.
Hancock Prospecting Group Operations CEO, Gerhard Veldsman, highlighted the level of confidence people living, working, and travelling throughout WA can take knowing their health needs are backed up with access to the RFDS.
“Operating in the Pilbara, we know how essential RFDS services are and the difference they make which is why our executive chair and I are delighted that we can recognise the critical work they do and provide further support.” Mr Veldsman said.
“Roy Hill provides ongoing opportunities for thousands of people in the Pilbara, building economic prosperity. Through the strong backing of our Executive Chairman, Mrs Gina Rinehart AO, we are committed to sharing that prosperity and recognise the significant commitment of rural and regional communities throughout WA, and their right to health care.”
Under the new agreement, Roy Hill will provide ongoing support, advocacy, and promotion of RFDS WA, as well as contribute $150,000 to support the provision of its vital services. This being in addition to HPPL’s more significant RFDS sponsorships.
Rebecca Maddern, RFDS General Manager of Community Relations, said: ”We are so pleased to see this partnership with Roy Hill continue, together with the very generous sponsorships by Hancock prospecting, a long tradition started by Mrs Rinehart’s mother, Hope Hancock, which allows the RFDS to keep providing world-class aeromedical care to those who live, work and travel in regional WA.”
