Women play an essential role at all levels of the Hancock Prospecting, and it was great to be a part of the 2023 WIMWA (Women in Mining and Resources WA ) Summit.
We had the privilege of meeting so many great people at our booth to discuss opportunities at Roy Hill, our commitment to diversity in the workplace through a culture of inclusion and our role as an Australian Olympic Partner through Hancock Prospecting.
With two days of conversations and connections with local and international guests, the Festival of Ideas was a massive success in celebrating, empowering and connecting women in mining.

The Roy Hill Family Day is an incredible opportunity to share FIFO family experiences together. Families are delighted to take a flight to the mine or port to experience the mining world for a day. It’s a day filled with fun and immersive educational experiences. Our 2 children, our son, and young daughter, love it, they look forward to the Roy family day and talk about it for ages! I’m so grateful my husband works for a family-orientated business like Roy Hill.

Gerhard Veldsman, chief executive of Roy Hill, is the latest business leader to sound off on the “same job, same pay” IR laws, telling the Minerals Week conference in Canberra the overhaul would force miners to shift staff to “minimum award standards”. “Don’t let a small group of people out of Victoria that has never set foot on a mine site decide what’s good for you,” Mr Veldsman, pictured, told the crowd, adding the mining sector already paid nation-leading salaries. “We work together to make the industry better and then we make sure that when mining does well our employees share in it. Same job, same pay threatens to take this away and force us back to minimum award standards.”
