Not many people can say they were the first female Train Driver on a mainline at a successful Australian-owned mining company.
But for Jaimee Ahearn, Supervisor Rail Operations, it was fate that brought her to the rail industry.
“I was straight out of school and had never given much thought to getting into rail. I applied for the job, got it, and ten years later, I’m still here and loving it”.
Despite the challenges of working in a male-dominated field, Jaimee has never let anything hold her back. The diverse work environment and inclusive culture at Roy Hill make it stand out from other mining companies.
“It’s a great industry to be part of. Everybody knows each other and looks out for each other”.
