Innovation Partnership to Enhance Operational Efficiency

Today the Hon Karen Andrews MP, Minister for Industry, Science and Technology announced recipients of the Government’s METS Ignited Collaborative Project Funds, confirming Roy Hill’s innovative project with Mineral Technologies will receive $1 million from the Government, matching funds contributed by Roy Hill.

“I am delighted the Government is supporting our partnership with Mineral Technologies – a project that seeks to enhance the operational efficiency of our mine, delivering more high-grade product while reducing waste for the same operational cost” said Roy Hill CEO Barry Fitzgerald.

Roy Hill and WesTrac Partner to Support WA Student Learning

Today Roy Hill CEO Barry Fitzgerald and WesTrac CEO Jarvas Croome announced the arrival of a new CAT Simulator to Roy Hill’s ROC-Ed Learning Centre in front of students from Kent Street Senior High School, with special guest WA Chief Scientist Professor Peter Klinken AC also in attendance.

WesTrac’s donation of the Cat Simulator to Roy Hill’s ROC-Ed program enables students to immerse themselves in the experience of operating a large Cat wheel loader, just as it would on site at the Roy Hill mine.

Roy Hill Appoints Chief Operating Officer

Roy Hill has appointed Gerhard Veldsman to the role of Chief Operating Officer at Roy Hill.

Gerhard joins Roy Hill from Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) where he was most recently Executive General Manager for FMG’s Pilbara Operations, promoted from the position General Manager Iron Ore Projects.

Completed Roy Hill Rail Bridge Delivers Safety Outcomes for Port Hedland

Today Roy Hill welcomed the Minister for Transport, the Minister for Environment and MP for the Pilbara, Kevin Michel MLA to open the completed Roy Hill Rail Bridge.

The Roy Hill funded bridge is a $18.66 million new single span rail bridge carrying the Great Northern Highway over the Roy Hill rail line, leading into Port Hedland’s port. The new bridge replaces an existing level crossing, enabling the free movement of traffic over the rail line, and removes the potential for a rail-road accident at the intersectio

National Mining and Related Industries Day Gala Reception 2018

On 22 November 2018, the sixth annual National Mining and Related Industries Day was hosted at Government House in Canberra. His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia, gave a welcome address.

Roy Hill Chairman, Mrs Gina Rinehart, who is also Patron and Founder of the event, provided a short speech to acknowledge key industry partners, and present the National Mining and Related Industries Day award to mining industry veteran Tony Galligan.
